Step 4. Add custom watermark:If you are a register user ,you can use “ Add custom watermark ”function. You can add your company's logo or your website address to output video files. Select “settings”from meum,then click the “Add custom watermark”button,you can choose your own logo.Default choose is “None”,when you select ”Text “ option you can input your slogan or website address and you can change font and color. Also you can drag and drop the words to anywhere of the black screen (etc:top left corner or top right corner). When you select“Bitmap”option, you can select your picture and drag picture on the screen .Now you output file will include your Company's logo or website address.

Step 5. Start Encode: With all settings being properly done, click "Start" button, choose "Encode" to start ripping selected charpters. If you want to encode from a specific starting point, firstly, you must drag or played movie to this specific point, then choose " Encode From Current Position " in the "START" menu.
If you want to encode a segment, please choose " Encode Segment " in the "START" menu, then enter the beginning time and the duration of the clip. For example, you want a clip from 1:17:43 to 1:55:17, you should enter From 1:17:43 to 1:55:17 , after that, click the " OK" button.

Step 6. Import the output Video file to Windows Movie Maker: After the file is successfully ripped, you may click the " Folder " button to browse the output files. Convert VOB to Video is done. After the converting complete,there will generate *.avi files, just import them into your Windows Movie Maker.

As for the programme itself, well I found it very user friendly, and after trying adobe premiere 6.5 (very advanced), pinnacle 7 (very slick, intermediate) & video edit magic (novice-intermediate) i think that Windows Movie Maker is very much a beginners tool.

There are loads of special effects and transitions that are simply dragged & dropped onto the storyboard to create your production. The time-line option allows you to see everything in more detail. you can add text in a myriad of different ways, sliding in from any direction, spinning around, opening credits and groovy end credits. Slow motion and increased film speed are all included.

More importantly for me it accepted my footage from my small, inexpensive digital stills camera at 15 f.p.s, which Adobe Premiere would not accept, and i know alot of people out there have only got this type of footage to play with as they haven't been able to afford a $600 - $800 DV camera.

There are also loads of freebie extras to download from the previous links with extra effects and other bonus tools to further enhance your movies. Alll in all, using Windows Movie Maker 2 is a fun experience despite the glitches and as a standard XP upgrade it has to be worth a go.

Once you have created your edited footage you can turn it into a complete movie file and then Windows Movie Maker will prep. it for burning onto disc, or you can go on to encode it to Mpeg, to create your own svcd, vcd or dvd's.
